Injustice: Gods Among Us Year Four Annual #1
Tom Taylor (w), Various (a)
DC Comics

Liz says: I wish every Justice League book were written by Tom Taylor (actually, I wish he wrote just about every other book on the shelf, too). His ‘Injustice’ books (Year One and Year Two) are easily the best Justice League stories I’ve read in years. It’s been a while since I kept up with the series (since Taylor stopped writing it regularly) so I thought I might be too far out of touch get caught up in the annual. I needn’t have worried; this is a one-off that could be picked up by anyone and enjoyed immensely. Supported by a strong plot and excellent story-structure, Taylor’s greatest strengths are in his sharp wit and his affection for the characters; throughout his run, I’ve fallen in love with his take on every hero or villain he’s dedicated time to. This time around it’s Plastic Man taking center stage, and whether or not you’ve ever been a fan of this character, you will be by the time you’ve turned the last page. Everything about this fast-paced, prison-caper story will draw you in, make you laugh and make you care. If you’ve never read Taylor’s ‘Injustice’ books before, read this and it will be all the incentive you need to go back and do so or, in my case, to want to go back and read them again.
