Spider-man/Deadpool Volume 0: Don’t Call it a Team-Up TP
Various (w),(a)
Marvel Comics
Liz says: Years after their classic run on the character, Joe Kelly & Ed McGuinness are back with some all-new Deadpool: namely, Spider-man/Deadpool, and it’s been a total treat so far.
For those of you who may have missed the single issues and are waiting on a collected edition, I’ve got bad news and good news. The bad news is: this isn’t a collection of that series. The good news is: this is a stellar selection of issues featuring past collisions and collaborations of Deadpool and Spidey, from Kelly and McGuinness’ own series as well as issues from Daniel Way’s run, Fabian Nicieza’s Cable & Deadpool series, issues of the Avenging Spider-man and the recent Marvel Now! Deadpool series.
Kicking it off with funniest-issue-ever Deadpool #11 (I quite literally cried with laughter the first time I read this), this collection really lays out the dynamic between these two characters and makes it plain that they should have their own team-up book (just don’t call it a team-up book; Spidey wouldn’t approve). Read this and you’ll totally understand why.
