Liz says: Brubaker and Epting reunite to do what they do best: awesome spy stories set in the sixties/seventies! Much like this duo’s excellent Captain America: Winter Soldier storyline, ‘Velvet’ hits the ground running, plunging its titular heroine headfirst into a maelstrom of murder and conspiracy. Though espionage stories are hardly new terrain for Brubaker it still feels wonderfully fresh; he’s writing what he really enjoys and it shows. Great character, great first issue – grab it now or regret it later!
